The smallest pan of lasagna I have ever seen?
IED
How long did you leave it to cool? I always underestimate it and so my first portion of lasagne never comes out as clean and beautiful as yours here.
So its basically a chilli mac n cheese with a little Bechamel with different shaped pasta? (which im a fan of by the way) So if i just made the chilli mac n cheese, banged a bit of bechamel on top before the cheese, it'll basically taste the same? Can't be arsed buying different shapes of pasta lol.
Lovely creation Rik,looks delightful, and similar to the one Mexican cooks in the NYC restaurants make, main difference is they layer with corn tortillas, not pasta, the sauce would be about the same, maybe pinto beans.I have a tip for you, which you can try,or not,Mexicans when making most of their sauces, take a bunch of cilantro, with the stalks, tie with string, and throw into the sauce, then just cook it in there for a while, when the sauce is finished, they take out,and dispose of it,you can then add a bit of fresh cilantro if you want, they don’t.I think Central America does the same,as I can smell it from my neighbors, and that is where she is from, it has a smell all its own when cooked that way.I am in agreement with you on cooking bechamel sauce, never understood the putting of little bits of milk in at a time.I should add the cilantro trick to me makes the sauces taste Mexican, other wise they taste TexMex.😊
I havent made this yet but i will. Two favourites in the same dish…yum. thanks for the new idea Rick.
Black beans are Cuban. Mexicans eat pinto beans or mayacobas (canary) beans for the most part. Black beans are available in Puerto Rico, but most of the natives think of black beans as tourist food. Otherwise, I think that this is great recipe which, I plan to cook using mayacoba beans. Thanks for your hard work.
instead of scissoring the tomatoes i like ti imagine crushing my exgirlfriend's new boyfriend's ball sack.
is that wrong?
Oh I'm totally making this tomorrow, that just looks amazing
Oh, my! Gotta try that!
I like you use common sense cooking.
How about using corn tortillas in place of noodles?
I recently made your mushroom and spinach lasagna and it was soooooo delicious. Thanks for sharing your wonderful recipes 😀
Once again another Rik special 😋, it looks absolutely amazing & definitely one that I will be trying to replicate. A fusion of two of my favourite foods – genius!👌 Can I ask what size of baking dish did you use for this Rik? 👨🍳 🌶️🇲🇽 +🇮🇹 =😍😋⚡️💡⚡️👌

Another favourite that I make. Will definitely try the chilli. Thanks Rik
I have a crock pot of soup 🍲 going. I had to use up a bunch of 🥕's & celery.
I have stuff for Mexican food. I don't have ground meat. I have a 1/2 package of stir fry pork meat in the freezer 😃🤔🤔??? I'm gonna just play off this recipe & see what I have that I could make a Mexican soup 🍲 with.
Apart from the sweetcorn that looks immense. Why don't you use chopped tomato's? always plum then chop yourself.
That looks absolutely delicious!
I love Mexican spices and seasonings.
Another home run recipe!
Plenty of colour and plenty of flavours! Thanks Rik, this is my second account Rik, it is Lillian commentating. Youtube ‘paused’ me (for 24 hrs) for some reason unknown to me 😂.
I'm very lucky to have found your channel! Your food looks amazing, thank you for sharing!
In Cincinnati, they eact Chili with Spaghetti. Never had nor made a lasagna using chili as the sauce. However, this would be easier using Ziti. Not a fan of bechamel on lasagna, only using it when making pastizio.
Awesome
It IS exceptional! Love it… ❤❤❤
Oh my that looks delicious. Just showed it the other half and he wants it for dinner tomorrow. 😋😁
As a New Orleans resident, he did all the opposite of how we cook seasoning for dishes
Milk is definately.a no-no with a trinity mix.
What a beautiful dish Rik! 💚🤍❤️
