Is there a timeframe/window each day for reward redemption?

I was making up a cart to order ahead about an hour ago, which included a redeemed reward. I got distracted by chores and when I tried to finalize my order, this popped up onscreen 😐 The item I would receive for free isn’t pricey, but it’s the principle that rankles me. Why give me rewards if I can’t redeem them? (I know that you can redeem one per order, and there doesn’t seem to be a limit? per day? McDonald’s won’t let users stack rewards or deals, and you have to receive a completed order/redemption before attempting to redeem another one.)
