I posted a while back sharing that I tried getting my grandfather's pepper seeds to grow. My grandmother sewed them together into a big wreath and I had seeds from it. I three to sprout. I put some of my grandfather's ashes in with the soil because he really loved them and bragged about how hot they were and hot many peppers they produced. I didn't get the habanero seeds to sprout but I got the small red ones to sprout (I had way more of those).
Well now they have flowers growing on them!! The one has like 6-7. They have huge leaves that are really shiney. I've been using botanicare liquid nutrients and they seem to be loves them. Short and fatty not tall and lanky.
All I need is ONE pepper to grow and mature to be in the clear, having fresh seeds. I'm growing this indoors so who knows maybe I can just keep it going and see how long I can keep it alive for.
I'll probably try crossing them with the other peppers I'm growing this time to try and make some Opu Hybrids (Opa is grandfather in German – I used to call him Opu though)
I'm so happy they popped.
