Wendy’s-Inspired Chili Recipe
Ingredients:
2 lbs ground beef
3 tbsp chili powder
2 tsp ground cumin
2 tsp salt
1½ tsp black pepper
2 (15 oz) cans tomato sauce
2 (15 oz) cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed
2 (15 oz) cans pinto beans, drained and rinsed
1 large onion, diced
2 stalks celery, sliced
1½ cups diced tomatoes
Instructions (Dutch Oven Method):
Brown the Beef:
Brown the ground beef either over the stove or directly in a preheated Dutch oven.
Pour in the tomato sauce, kidney beans, pinto beans, diced onion, celery, and diced tomatoes.
Add Spices and Green Chilis:
Sprinkle the chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper over the mixture, then top with green chilis.
Stir and Simmer:
Stir everything together, place the lid on the Dutch oven, and top with coals. Let it simmer for 45 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld perfectly.
Serve with Toppings:
Dish up your chili and add your favorite toppings—cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo, or any extras you love.
