  1. After working in my wife's Mexican restaurant restaurant, yes, cooking ancho or guajillo chili's is great, but it's a pain for me now. I have to order them from Amazon because none of the stores in my town carry them, so I bought both ancho and guajillo chili powder instead. I've mixed that with tomato sauce before, but just isn't the same. What if I used tomato paste instead, or just make a paste with water or beef broth?

  2. Nicole you look absolutely stunning. Whoever's styling you knows what they're doing! Also great recipe – can't wait to make it.

  3. I love Texas chili, but this recipe looks like it takes it to the next level. Definitely going to try this one!

  4. Never seen the masa trick before, but I like it.
    +++++
    Did you add parsley at the end? NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! Cilantro. Only cilantro.

  5. Just curious…can you save the seeds? Roast them, air save them for spicier recipes, dry and make a rub, etc?

  6. Texas chili and tomato/bean chili both excellent, but two different flavors. I love Texas chili with or over rice. Yum!😋

  7. Native Texan here 53yrs old and all my family used tomatoes and beans. This is called a spicy stew when you use meat only just saying..not sure who called this a Texas chili. Ranch cooks use beans to stretch the meat & fill your belly

  8. Beans can’t be added to chili until you cross into Oklahoma…. Just saying. And NO chunky tomatoes. But definitely add Fritos and cheese.

  9. I’m 70 years old and have lived in Texas all my life. Our recipe uses Rotel (tomatoes and peppers) and pinto beans.

  10. I have a recipe for Texas Red also … to the pot you just made add one 9 oz tube of Cacique beef chorizo you tell me .. yours is outstanding .. Thanks Wayne
