Shimla mirch pyaz ki sabji or capsicum onion curry (capsicum masala) is a simple yet flavorful Indian gravy. A quick and tasty Indian dish made with green peas, sautéed small onions and capsicum, flavored with spices. Perfect as a side dish with roti, naan, chapathi.
-Ingredients for shimla mirch pyaz ki sabji.
Shimla mirchi 1 (whole capsicumor bell pepper)
Small onion 8
Green peas ½ cup
Oil 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds ½ tsp
Cumin seeds ½ tsp
Dry red chilli 2
Crushed ginger garlic 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder ½ tsp
Red chilli powder ½ tsp
Coriander powder 2 tbsp
Kashmiri chilli powder 1 tbsp
Salt 1 tsp
Water ½ to 1 cup
–Instructions for preparing capsicum onion curry or shimla mirch pyaz ki sabzi.
Clean and wash all vegetables.
Cut them into slices and keep aside.
Take a pan, add oil. Once the oil is hot, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds,dry red chilli, crushed garlic.
Once it crackles, add green peas and saute well.
Then add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, Kashmiri chilli powder, salt and saute well.
Add minced tomato, whole onion and chopped bell pepper and mix well.
And cover with the lid again and cook for another 5 minutes on a medium flame.
Add water and cook for another 4 minutes on a medium flame.
Serve tasty and simple shimla mirch pyaz ki sabji with roti, chapathi.
