Loved seeing Ben in one of these! Great video
Barry take your rings off.
Brilliant format! Love the fact it was a "simpler" dish with processes rather than something very complicated. Also….preferred the look of Barry's fondant, sorry Ben š
Definitely do this more often!
Sorted has changed⦠I didnāt even hear a snicker when Ben was playing with his chicken. S.M.H. 7:27
Yes- I would like more of these, please
I need to get myself one of the ring cutters than Ben is talking about, to get perfectly "spherical" fondant potatoes hahaha
I grew up watching a lot of Food Network on the weekends because of my mom; I could sit and watch Ben cook all day. I love watching chefs, like Ben, cook and explain what theyāre doing and why because I know there is always more I can learn; and I learn a lot by watching AND listening. Iām comfortable in my cooking skills; but I know that I also wouldnāt make this as a go to meal. It would be something to try; and then make when there are guests over. I do personally feel that having ADHD helps with the multitasking in the kitchen when Iām cooking, and helps me keep track of where Iām at in a recipe. Which is great; but I wish my brain would do that with other things besides cooking. I also need to remind myself that I just because it doesnāt look the same doesnāt mean itās wrong because I also get very in my head about how things end up looking in comparison to how itās āsupposedā to look like Barry did. I have to remind myself to take a step back, take a breath, and ignore how it looks because as long as itās tastes good and is cooked through, it wasnāt a failure and itās not wrong. And even if I do āfailā and have to start over or make something else; failure is always an option.
Awesome format idea! Rock on!
Yay. It was great to see the modular kitchen ā¤
What I learned today: chicken works really well with butter; i should cook with butter more often; I want to make compound butters and keep them in the freezer.
I always need to make sure I've eaten (or have food) when watching one of your videos. š¤¤
omg wow! an episode where Barry cooks and doesn't start screaming halfway through. but honestly, who cooks chicken kiev anymore? its not even good in restaurants
Before watching them eat this. Barry's Cabbage and Bacon looks how i like mine at home.
Assemble and serve technically could come first in any dish
Those were both wonderful looking dishes, and honestly, with slightly different plating, I would have guessed the wrong one came from the chef.
I love the format. I think it would be fun to try with some exceptionally simple dishes, without help cards. Things like "Macaroni and cheese" or "spaghetti and meatballs". Something that even a normal normal can cook but can be done very differently by a chef.
What about each normal gets to challenge either of the chefs to a side by side like this but the normal chooses the dish type. (I just want to see Jamie outcook a chef in regard to beef)
I think the side by side format specifically helps highlight Barry really well, the normal's strengths are very different, Jamie has the fundamentals down the best I think, while slowly working on advanced techniques one by one which is why when he does a straight forward dish he almost always wins, Barry has a good mix of fundamentals and higher level techniques, which leads to a mix of wins and losses, and Mike… Mike weirdly is really good at creating and committing to wild choices and backing it up with high level knowledge, but then forgets something basic on a dice roll and so either wins or loses depending on if he pulls off his wild concept
chicken 'what' now?
at least you Spelled it correctly…
thanks for dampening all of the ridiculous, over the top "acting". the more normal you all act, the better as it was what made this show so popular. the live audience promotes more "acting" and not just being yourselves. some advice should be second thought and maybe rejected. think long term for true growth.
Yes, you should do this more often. More difficult dishes and/or less instructions
Very great overall vibe. This makes it very approachable to cook something you see. Also Benās approach to different not necessarily better helps
Why anyone would risk eating Barry's food is beyond me. The retired healthcare professional in me threw up a little when he paneed raw chicken with all his rings on, then ran to swish his hands in soapy water so he could go handle the raw vegetables. Cabbage and bacon with salmonella dressing, YUM.
Honestly disappointed.
Video idea:
Looking at the current setup we need normals master chef!
They cook from mistery box, with limited pantry and the safe ones go up on the viewing area!
Like crossover between mystery box and chefs challenge! Maybe on next live? š
Ben was keen with his finger š haha
Tbh today is the first time I heard chicken kiev and fondant potato. Right after this video I immediately try to make them and they ended up awesome! Thank you Sorted Food!!
Double team kush and ben paired with normals but 3 flips. Chef normal and the swap ches between teamsš
Should Barry be removing his rings first?
I'd love to see Ben vs Mike on desserts and Ben vs Jamie on a meaty sandwich type of dish – give the normals their strenghts basically, and see how much of an advantage it gives them!
love this video format! I learned a lot
They both look absolutely stunning! Iād be pleased to be served either dish! Well done Barry! And as always, while I love Benās snarkiness he often showsā¦it is actually sweet to see how encouraging and supportive he is as the boys develop their skills. This was a fun one! Would love to see more of these!
6:00 old man ben getting old, hes literally chopping nothing
YES MORE PLEASE
i love the format, but the interaction throughout with both contestants were a lot better in the previous videos.
dont think this set's layout allows for that. theyre too far apart from one another
Barry was locked in. Loved it
Well done Barry u should be well proud of yourself xx
I think the normals need an extra 5 mins planning time otherwise the chefs get a leg up time wise
where's the dill?! ain't a kotlet of kyiv without dill!
I wince now, when I hear the Russian version of Kiev pronunciation. Letās use the Ukrainian.
I havenāt finished the episode yet but, Barryās food looks like it might taste better than Benās. Good job Barry!
I mean, Ben fingering the breast though….
I really enjoyed this, love the cheffy tips! Little things most of us wouldn't think to do, but they seem so simple once you say them out loud. I'm a clean as you go type home cook, so I love seeing the boys clear down as they work.
I like it with Kush as well but yeah more with both chefs. Make them cook swedish meatballs with proper brown sauce
