Chili My Way!

There are hundreds of chili recipes out there but I wanted to share with you just how I make mine. I love a nice thick and hearty bowl of chili topped with cheese, sour cream, and crushed tortilla chips.

Chili

Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 small onion chopped
3 gloves of garlic minced
1 bell pepper chopped
2 15 oz. can of diced tomatoes
1 15 oz. can of chili beans
4 15oz. cans of light kidney beans
1 to 2 cups of beef broth
1 to 2 heaping tbsp of tomato paste
2 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp paprika (I use smoked paprika)
1 tbsp cumin
1 tsp turmeric
Pinch of cinnamon
Dash of red pepper flakes
1/2 tbsp salt
Cracked black pepper
1 tbsp sugar

Instructions
Place ground beef in a large pot along with chopped onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook until the beef is browned. Add the rest of your ingredients and cook on low heat for 30 minutes to an hour.
I drain my beans but you do not have to, leaving the liquid will make your chili thinner and less thick.
