Pepper Rasam Is BEST For Cold And Cough | Milagu Rasam in Tamil

This Pepper Rasam is perfect for when you’re feeling under the weather, but for the ultimate taste, I highly recommend pairing it with Groundnut and Roasted Gram Chutney. It’s a flavor-packed combo that enhances the overall experience of this comforting soup!

Ingredients:
Pepper – 1 tbsp (for its natural healing properties)
Cumin – 1/2 tbsp
Coriander seeds – 1/2 tbsp
Green chili – 2
Garlic – 7 cloves (boosts immunity)
Small onion – 3
Tomato – 1 big (adds tangy flavor)
Tamarind – 1 amla-sized ball (for that authentic tanginess)
Oil – 3 tbsp
Mustard seeds & chickpea seeds – 1 tsp (for tempering)
Curry leaves – a few sprigs
Red chilies – 2
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp (anti-inflammatory)
Asafoetida – 1 tsp (for digestion)
Salt – to taste
Fresh coriander leaves – for garnish
Water – 2 cups
Preparation Steps:
Heat oil and temper mustard seeds, chickpeas, curry leaves, and red chilies.
Add ground pepper, cumin, coriander seeds with garlic, onion, and tomato. Let the mix cook.
Add tamarind extract for that tangy flavor.
Add turmeric, asafoetida, and salt. Simmer for a few minutes.
Garnish with coriander leaves for a fresh finish.
Enjoy this Pepper Rasam with hot rice or as a comforting drink! It’s perfect for fighting cold & cough naturally.
