Pepper Chicken Dry | Spicy Black Pepper Chicken Recipe | Chicken Kali Mirch
This Pepper Chicken Dry is a bold and flavourful dish, packed with the intense aroma of black pepper and cardamoms. Perfect as a side or a main dish!
𝙄𝙉𝙂𝙍𝙀𝘿𝙄𝙀𝙉𝙏𝙎:-
For Chicken Marination:
•Chicken (thighs and drumsticks) – 750g
•Ginger garlic paste – 2 tbsp
•Black pepper (crushed) – 2 tbsp
•Salt – as per taste
For Masala:
•Coriander seeds – 1 tbsp
•Black peppercorns – 2 tbsp
•Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
•Black cardamoms – 3 nos
•Cloves – 5 nos
For Cooking:
•Oil – 4 tbsp
•Curry leaves – 20 nos
•Onion (finely chopped) – 3 medium
•Garlic (finely chopped) – 1 tbsp
•Ginger (finely chopped) – 1 tbsp
•Thick green chillies (chopped) – 2 nos
•Marinated chicken
•Yoghurt (whisked) – ½ cup
•Prepared masala – 3 tbsp
For Garnish:
•Thick green chillies (sliced) – 2 nos
•Fresh coriander (chopped) – as required
•Lemon wedges – for serving

𝙄𝙉𝙎𝙏𝙍𝙐𝘾𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉𝙎:-
1. Marinate the Chicken:
In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken with ginger garlic paste, crushed black pepper, and salt. Mix well and marinate for 1 hour.
2. Prepare the Masala:
In a skillet over medium heat, dry roast coriander seeds, black peppercorns, cumin seeds, black cardamoms, and cloves until aromatic. Allow them to cool, then grind into a fine powder. Set aside.
3. Cook the Chicken:
1. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
2. Add curry leaves and let them crackle.
3. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent.
4. Stir in chopped garlic, ginger, and green chillies, and cook until onions turn light golden brown.
5. Add the marinated chicken and cook on high heat for 4-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the chicken changes color.
6. Lower the heat and add whisked yoghurt along with 3 tbsp of the prepared masala.
7. Cook over medium heat, stirring continuously, until the water from the yoghurt evaporates and the masala thickens. This will take around 10-12 minutes.
4. Garnish & Serve:
•Finish by adding sliced green chillies, chopped fresh coriander, and lemon wedges.
•Serve hot with naan, roti, or steamed rice.
