This Dutch Pepper Slaw is another easy and delicious Pennsylvania Dutch recipe. A fine slaw of cabbage, green bell peppers and carrots with a yummy sweet and sour dressing with a hint of celery seed. Great for get togethers. Enjoy.

Country Dutch Pepper Slaw ~ Cabbage Pepper Slaw Recipe

INGREDIENTS

1 medium size head cabbage
1 medium size green bell pepper
1 medium size carrot
1 tsp salt

Shred cabbage, green bell pepper and carrot
in food processor. Mix all together in a bowl.
Add 1 tsp. salt and mix well. Let set
until your prepare dressing.

DRESSING

1 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 tsp celery seed

In a saucepan mix above ingredients and stir.
Boil for 1 full minute, remove from heat and
let cool until lukewarm.

Pour dressing over slaw. Mix well and
refrigerate for 2-3 hours before serving.
Best if made day before and kept in refrigerator.

  6. Oh thank you I didn't want to ask my mother-in-law how to make this cuz I wanted to surprise my husband. He's from Halifax Pennsylvania and I wasn't raised cooking Pennsylvania Dutch food even though I lived in Germany for 16 years it's totally different cooking and I'm also from Louisiana Cajun so we cook totally different. I hear your accent reminds me of my mother-in-law
