Cheese Steak Hoagies, Vol. 2 Cookbook Recipe
1 LARGE – 1″ THICK RIBEYE OR TRI-TIP STEAK
1 ONION, SLICE THIN.
BELL PEPPER, SLICE IN THIN STRIPS
1 1/2 CUPS, SLICED MUSHROOMS
1 CLOVE GARLIC
1 CUP WATER
1 KNORR BEEF BOUILLON (OR 2 TSP. GRANULES)
2 TBSP. CORN STARCH
1 TBSP. DALES STEAK SEASONING
(OR BETTER THAN BOUILLON BEEF)
OLIVE OIL
2 TBSP. SALTED BUTTER
8 OZ. OLE CHEESE DIP (PLAIN)
Flash Freeze Steak 1 hour take out slice into very thin
strips across grain. In liquid measuring cup combine
bouillons with water. Place into microwave until
boiling, then whisk well. Now whisk in corn starch.
Preheat a hot iron skillet, griddle, or wok, add 2-3 tbsp
olive oil and veggies (not garlic) Cook on medium high
until veggies are soft. Stir frequently. Place veggies in
a plate. Add sliced beef and garlic to hot wok with 2
tbsp. olive oil and 2 tbsp. butter. Stir on high heat 2
minutes. Add bouillon mixture a sauce will thicken
fast. Place meat mixture on top of hoagie buns, then
veggies and top with cheese. Place in hot oven on broil
until sides of bread are toasted. Take out and enjoy
while hot!
Makes 3-4 hoagies.

On May 18, 2017, as I reflected on my battle with cancer, I realized I hadn’t taught my daughters how to cook. Concerned that if the cancer returned, I wouldn’t leave them with essential kitchen skills, I decided to record my favorite recipes on video.

I jumped out of my recliner, filmed my first tutorial that day, and posted it on Facebook the next day. The overwhelming response led me to create a Facebook page, a website, and a YouTube channel. Encouraged by my viewers, my husband and I compiled a cookbook, which I hope brings joy to both new and experienced cooks. Thank you for supporting Collard Valley Cooks!

Many people wonder if Collard Valley is real; it is located in northwest Georgia, where the hills rise toward the Appalachian Mountains. The name originates from Chief Collard, a Cherokee leader forced into exile during the Trail of Tears in the 1830s. Nearby Cedartown was established as a mill town in the early 1900s.

This rural area has maintained its agricultural roots. Tammy’s grandparents, Albert and Lucille Benefield, embodied this lifestyle, focusing on cooking with simple ingredients. We hope you enjoy this simple rural cooking style, reflecting traditions passed down through family and community, similar to other “Collard Valleys” nationwide.

I never get tired of eating this sandwich except no mushrooms…Yum Every time we go out shopping we make sure to go to our favorite Italian restaurant and I order this sandwich…Yum !! Tammy you have the most beautiful hair. When my Tammy was born and up until her 30-40s she had the most beautiful Auburn hair like Yours and also Natural Curly, but due to her bad health its really thin and gray and not much color LuvYa sweetie.   11. Rib eyes make the best steak sandwiches, I usually can get a couple nice ribeye steaks in the 50% of rack, perfectly good, it’s the only thing I use for steak sandwiches. I do buy the shaved like you have when I can’t get some. Now I’m craving one.
