Agree or disagree? 🌭Is the chili dog more American than apple pie?🥧
✨Easiest Chili Dogs✨
Chili Sauce (Makes enough for 8 dogs):
Ingredients:
🌭1 Tbsp olive oil
🌭1 lb ground beef (80/20)
🌭2 Tbsp tomato paste
🌭1 (15 oz) can crushed tomatoes
🌭 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
🌭 1 tablespoon chili powder
🌭1/2 teaspoon onion powder
🌭1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
🌭1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
🌭1 tsp kosher salt
🌭1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef. Brown until mostly cooked, breaking it up as you go.
Stir in tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, and spices.
Simmer uncovered for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened.
Season with more salt and pepper to taste. The chili should be spoonable but rich, not runny.
The Dogs:
Ingredients
🌭8 all-beef hot dogs or smoked sausages (like Nathan’s, Hebrew Nationa, or a bratl)
🌭8 potato or brioche buns
🌭1 cup sharp cheddar, freshly shredded
🌭1/4 cup finely chopped white onion (optional)
🌭Yellow mustard (classic American-style)
Assembly
Butter the inside and toast in a skillet or under a broiler until golden.
Grill, pan-sear, or boil until heated through with a little char.
Place hot dog in bun, spoon over hot chili, top with cheddar, onions, and a squiggle of mustard. Serve with crushed potato chips
Tips
For next-level flavor, make the chili a day ahead; it’s even better after it has rested.
Want heat? Add a few dashes of hot sauce before serving.
Want something smokier? Swap fire-roasted tomatoes for the crushed 🍅

I feel kind of sad because you people from USA are so ignorant
Nah, you can claim apple pie. It's not about where it comes from. It's about whomever loves them so much they become part of culture.
Not "discovered" 😔
I love chili dogs.
Shout out San Antonio! But honestly the fact that there's so many areas that caught on just shows it is a testament of it being a staple of America
Where did Americans come from THE BRITISH LOL
According to your story it's more Mexican, Greek and then lastly American.
So it's not american
