Even with the endearing PSA itās painful to see you using flavor packets. That is not you cooking.
Thats a recipe for Americans only. Where to get those ingredients abroad?
Please do more slow cooker recipes! I need more great ideas!
Scissor me timbers
People make this same recipe in New Mexico – they just add a lot of fresh roasted green chilis (If you know, you know) instead of the pickled chilis.
I am sorry looks XD can be deceiving but the end result looks a little bit off to me š®
thanks
02:55 Me: You want me to scissor the chicken, huh?
Chef John (Nicholson): I want you to scissor it ā BETWEEN YOUR KNEES!
This is going straight to the top of my soup list for this fall.
When is the swamp rice recipe coming out?
Sorry Chef John, I read the ingredients and it made me feel nauseous. I subbed yogurt mixed with dried oregano, garlic powder, and a pinch of msg and it was a hit.

Such a good idea! Iām not ready for this dish yet, though. Itās 92 degrees today. In a couple months Iāll be all over this. š
Chef John is the greatest, and he's the only guy I know who turns English into a tonal language
when you said scissor my chicken was already there but did not expect you to go thereš¤£šš¤£š š¤£šš¤£šš¤£
'…dust off your slow cooker…'
How did you know??
Why does he talk like that? Obnoxious
Found gluten free options for both powdered mixes so I'm going to give this a try this week!
he say Dwight Shrute? xD
Why would you not look at the ingredient list for the packets? They seem pretty tame to me.
Looks delicious ā¤ā¤
I watched so my of your video that my 3 year old son started saying ā and as always enjoyyyyyā
That was not Swamp Rice …. Sorry…… That was thrown together really fast and when u have a long day it's nice to have supper done when u get home…. Some good cornbread or garlic bread would b good with it for sure …
I've honestly never understood the bean snobs. They are delicious and filling, save money in bulk, and satisfy the belly. I love boiling chickpeas in tomato bouillon with indian spices. I may be a white girl, but I respect and enjoy many cultures.
Ppl please donāt use those clamps on the lid of the crock pot while cooking! They r meant to be used while transporting the pot to prevent the lid from coming off. The pressure that is built when the clamps r used during cooking can cause the crockpot to explode
SCISSOR ME TIMBERS
My appetite was building until that scissoring quip š±š±š±šš
So thankful to Chef John for being in the game as long as he has and always staying true to himself: consistently providing a wide-variety of accessible and delicious recipes in a concise manner with a dollop of humor and positive energy.
So many YouTube chefs have decided to focus on content about themselves rather than food…Chef John remains a beacon of content purity and guiding light to honest folk just looking for a recipe. Thank you šš»
My god that is an abomination. If I could make my own version without the processed soup or dressing mixes I might be into it
It does look good with the rice in the bowl though
Why is the volume unusually low? Can you adjust that, Chef John? Thx!
Hey Chef John! Whats worse than two girls running with scissors?!
Wow…the South Park reference. I wonder what percentage of your viewers got that. I'm probably of your age. Go boy.
I must object to the comment about making sausage. Having worked for a pork processor, I believe that people would be impressed with our operation. It's clean &safe. I spent a lot of time working in the fresh sausage department. There is nothing untoward in sausage making. It's all natural ingredients. I also ran the scrapple cook room for a couple of years, so I don't want to hear it.
Otherwise I like the recipe.
Excited for a recipe drop, disappointing that it uses ingredients you can only get in the states.

This looks and sounds awesome. Need to prep this for lunch.
Nah too much radioactive powders
Chicken thighs are awful.
I'll never make chicken chili thr regular way again! So delicious. I adapted to instant pot by adding half cup of chicken broth and pressure cooking for 20 minutes with 10 minutes natural release.
Don't promote ignorance FOOD WISHES! Always read your food ingredient lists! Always!
What about the Swamp Rice?
This looks delicious. Today, the high temperature where I live is 98 degrees. I'll save this one to try in a few months.
scissor me chickens!
