Aloha folks! It’s starting to cool down and I love making more hearty, warm dishes. This one is a classic favorite in my household. We prefer the taste of kosher hot dogs but you can use whichever type or brand you like. What kind of toppings do you like on your chili dog? Let us know in the comments below.

Kimo’s Super Easy Homemade Chili and Chili Dogs
Ingredients:
1 pkg of ground beef
1 bell pepper
2 yellow onion
1 ½ cloves of garlic (or 1 tbsp)
1 large can of red enchilada sauce
1 can of chili beans
1 large can of tomato sauce
1 small can of green chilis
1 tbsp Paprika
1 tbsp Ground Cumin
1 tbsp Red pepper flakes
2-4 tbsp chili powder
Hot dog buns
Package of hot dogs
Shredded cheese for topping
1 tsp Salt
1 tbsp pepper
Instructions:
1. In a large saucepan, add ground beef, salt and pepper. Cook until meat is browned.
2. Add bell pepper, onion, garlic, red enchilada sauce, chili beans, tomato sauce, green chilis, paprika, ground cumin, red pepper flakes, chili powder (add more if you like), salt and pepper.
3. Heat on low and bring to simmer.
4. Let simmer for 2 to 3 hours.
5. Put your hot dogs on a cast iron grill pan or any pan you have.
6. Cook until done or grill marks are prominent.
7. Put in a bun and add as much chili as you like.
8. Top with your favorite toppings (we used onions and shredded cheese).
9. Enjoy!
