These Crispy Mirchi Poppers are spicy, crunchy and full of flavour. Stuffed with a well seasoned aloo masala and coated in a light besan batter, this snack is perfect for monsoon evenings or tea time cravings.
Ingredients
For stuffing:
• Boiled potatoes
• Onion (finely chopped)
• Green chilli (finely chopped)
• Salt to taste
• Red chilli powder
• Haldi powder
• Coriander leaves
• Coarse powder of jeera, coriander and saunf
For mirchi poppers:
• Long green chillies (pakoda variety)
• Besan
• Water (as required)
• Salt
• Haldi powder
• Red chilli powder
• Jeera
• Oil for deep frying
Method
1. Mix boiled potatoes with onion, green chilli, salt, red chilli powder, haldi, coriander leaves and coarse spice powder.
2. Cut the stem of green chillies and carefully remove the seeds.
3. Stuff the prepared aloo masala into the chillies.
4. Slice the stuffed chillies into small round pieces.
5. Prepare a smooth besan slurry using besan, water, salt, haldi, red chilli powder and jeera.
6. Dip the chilli pieces in the batter and deep fry until golden and crispy.
7. Serve hot with green chutney or ketchup.
