I’m convinced that the best way to grow bonnets is to grow out at least 5 plants from different seed packets and hope for 1 genuine Scotch Bonnet plant out of the bunch. Best case scenario, they all grow true and you’re rolling in bonnets. Worst case you don’t get any at all, which is no different from growing one plant that turns out to be the wrong variety.
