Anyone tried soil / loam based potting mixes?

After quite underwhelming results with the typical peat/coir potting mixes I wanted to try something different.

The mix I’m using is about mostly a loam mix intended for vegetable growing with compost and perlite that I added. I also mixed in some worm castings and ecothrive life cycle. I’ll only water once the soil has dried out quite a bit as it retains water a lot more than mixes I’ve used before.
