Ground Pork Chili Oil Knife-Cut Noodles
Serves 2 adults + 1 toddler (no spice for toddler)
Ingredients (with cost)
• Knife-cut noodles – $2.50
• ½ lb ground pork – $3.50
• ½ red onion – $0.75
• Scallions (whites + greens) – $0.75
• Cilantro – $0.75
• Chili oil (Momofuku + Asian market, used portion) – $1.00
• Neutral oil + pantry basics – $0.75
Total: ~$10
How I Made It
1. Heat neutral oil over medium heat (use a little extra since the oil becomes part of the sauce).
2. Sauté red onion until soft and fragrant.
3. Add scallion whites and cook briefly.
4. Add ground pork and cook until fully cooked and lightly browned.
5. Stir in about 1 teaspoon Momofuku Black Truffle Chili Oil and let it simmer so the oil flavors the pork.
6. Add chopped cilantro and some scallion greens.
7. Cook knife-cut noodles separately until tender and chewy. Drain.
8. Add noodles to the pan and toss until coated.
9. Add more chili oil to taste, toss again, and serve.
Toddler Tip 👶
Before adding extra chili oil, set aside a portion so your toddler can enjoy it without the heat. #dinnerrecipes #food
