Grab and gtfo

So umm.. I try to greet somebody, anybody, to let them know I'm not some rando snatching food from the to go area but it's like they get angry at me for bothering them. Happens a lot. Should I just walk in grab and gtfo without saying a word? Thanks, now gtfo out of my post!
