Easy Homemade Chili Recipe | Classic Beef Chili From Scratch

Looking for a high protein homemade chili recipe that’s rich, hearty, and packed with deep flavor? This beef and chuck roast chili is made completely from scratch with fire roasted tomatoes and bold seasoning.

🥩 Ingredients:
• 2 lbs lean ground beef
• 1 lb chuck roast, cubed
• 1 onion, diced
• Bell peppers, diced
• Garlic cloves, minced
• 2 cans fire roasted tomatoes
• 1–2 cans crushed tomatoes
• Beef broth
• Red kidney beans
• Tomato paste
• Optional: jalapeños

🧂 Seasonings:
• Salt
• Pepper
• Garlic powder
• Onion powder
• Smoked paprika
• Sazon
• Brown sugar
• Chili powder
• Cumin
• Salmon seasoning

👨🏽‍🍳 Directions:
1. Brown 2 lbs of lean ground beef in a large pot over medium heat.
2. In a separate pan, brown your chuck roast. This is what makes it a higher protein, more filling chili.
3. Drain the ground beef completely. Then season it. Don’t season before draining. We want that flavor locked into the meat, not poured out with the grease.
4. Add minced garlic, then onions and bell peppers. Stir and let them soften.
5. Add crushed tomatoes and fire roasted tomatoes. The fire roasted tomatoes bring out that deeper flavor.
6. Pour in beef broth to loosen everything up.
7. Add red kidney beans.
8. Stir in tomato paste.
9. Add jalapeños if you want heat.
10. Sprinkle in brown sugar to balance the acidity.

Let it simmer and build flavor.

Use your taste buds. Adjust seasoning as needed. Make it yours.

Remember, nobody makes it better than you.
