Some cut them to promote growth in its early stage but you’re just doing it for the sake of giving it more light while at the same time taking away the things it uses to make use of said light.

But seriously my habanero plant has small leaves. It produced about 10 regular size peppers and now a bunch of smaller ones. Definitely changed once temperature jumped to the 70s

I would put it in a bigger pot to let it grow and flourish. Otherwise, it’s a nice healthy looking plant.
