Day 15 of building our 72 hour emergency food kit.
For this one, I made a big batch of chili for the lunch portion and put it in the freeze dryer.
One thing I’ve heard and have been keeping in mind while doing this is to drain as much fat as possible when cooking meals like this. Less oil helps food freeze dry better and can extend shelf life.
Next video I’ll bag everything up and the full 72 hour kit will finally be done.
After that, I’m starting a new series where I rehydrate and taste test everything I made.
What I like
What I don’t
What I’d do again
What I’d do differently
And what I’d skip altogether
Because making it is one thing. Actually eating it is another.
Follow along for Day 16 and the full taste test series.
