First time grower here, starting from seed and using pretty basic gear.
My partner and I went on a Chilli Propagation Tour at our local chilli farm, and left with a tray each of selected seeds they let us choose. These are the ones in the individual trays. After the tour, I went to the local garden center and picked up this heated windowsill propergator which came with some more seed trays.
I picked up some Cayenne & Jalapeño seeds with the propergator to give myself an extra shot at having some fruit. There are 12 Cayenne seeds evenly separated together and 10 Jalapeño seeds in the other. The Jalapeño isn't really doing anything whilst the Cayenne is starting to come through.
I know this light is abit crap! And I only get abit of sunlight through this window in the morning and have only 1 small window in the rear of the property. It's a 200+ year old cottage in the woods here in the UK.
So, how's this looking? My garden only gets sunlight between around 9:30am & 5pm in peak summer. 4pm usually. I also have a lot of wildlife visit my garden so I'm worried about putting them outside eventually. Half the garden is a Rabbit Warren, there are lots of mice (the cute kind), stoats, badgers, foxes, and god knows how many birds. Do I stand a chance here?! 😅

They’re already a bit leggy from the lights. I’m learning that peppers need lots of light and a fair amount of heat to be happy. I would recommend ChilliChump on youtube. he’s from the UK and has a lot of great videos about starting from seed, I feel like his videos may be more helpful since the climate may be the most similar albeit from a different region than you.
It’s definitely possible if you prepare correctly.
For what it’s worth I also have some extremely leggy seedlings and I’m using some pretty serious grow lights. Sometimes they just want to do that, I suppose.
