Baked Pelmeni Casserole



This is a quick and “lazy” way to prepare frozen dumplings, turning them into a hearty, cheesy gratin.

Ingredients
• Frozen Pelmeni: 1 bag (approximately 400-500g)
• Sour Cream: 3-4 tablespoons (can be substituted with heavy cream or mayonnaise)
• Eggs: 2 large
• Cheese: 100g, shredded (mozzarella, cheddar, or any melting cheese)
• Seasoning: Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions
1. Prepare the Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, add the frozen pelmeni directly from the bag. You do not need to defrost them.
2. Add Base Ingredients: Add the sour cream and crack two eggs into the bowl.
3. Add Cheese and Seasoning: Toss in the shredded cheese and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
4. Mix: Stir everything together until each dumpling is well-coated with the egg and cream mixture.
5. Transfer: Pour the mixture into a glass baking dish and spread it out evenly.
6. Bake: Place in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F). Bake for approximately 25 to 35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the pelmeni are cooked through.
7. Serve: Let it cool for a minute before serving. The sauce will thicken into a savory custard-like coating.
