Kacchi keri aur mirchi ka kuta

This reminds me of good old times. I don’t know how to explain it to you, but this is my daadi’s recipe and has my core memories attached with it. It’s a simple recipe, made with few whole spices, raw mangoes, chillies, some oil and salt. The shelf life of this instant pickle is up to a month in refrigerator.

Ingredients
2 raw mangoes
10-15 green chillies
2 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1/2 cup mustard oil
1/2 hing

For achar ka masala
2 tsp coriander seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp black mustard seeds
1 tsp yellow mustard seeds
1 tsp fennel seeds
1 tsp Kalonji seeds
1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds

Method
1. Roast all the whole spices in a pan, now pound them coarsely
2. Chop raw mangoes and green chillies in a chopper, add it along with grounded masala
3. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt
4. Now heat some mustard oil, add hing in it and pour over the pickle and enjoy 🙂
