Steamed Cabbage & Peppers with Sausage

Ingredients:

* 1 Conecuh sausage link, chopped
* 1 small head of cabbage, chopped
* 1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
* 1/2 yellow bell pepper, chopped
* 1/2 red bell pepper, chopped
* 1/2 medium onion, chopped
* 1 teaspoon caramelized onion paste
* 1 teaspoon caramelized garlic paste
* Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:
1. Prep your ingredients:
Wash and chop the cabbage, peppers, and onion. Slice the sausage into bite-sized pieces.
1. Cook the sausage:
In a large skillet or pot over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned. This helps release flavor into the dish.
1. Add vegetables:
Add the chopped onion and bell peppers to the skillet. Sauté for about 3–5 minutes until they begin to soften.
1. Add cabbage:
Stir in the chopped cabbage. It will look like a lot at first, but it will cook down.
1. Season and steam:
Add the caramelized onion paste, caramelized garlic paste, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
Cover the pot and let everything steam on low heat for about 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.
1. Final taste check:
Adjust seasoning if needed and serve warm.
