chicken chili is popular Nepali dish of chicken of Chinese heritage . However it is also very popular Indo-Chinese cousin in India. chicken chili is a crispy chicken dish with sweet ,sour& spicy flavor made with chicken , bell peppers ,garlic & chili sauce.
recipe :
ingredients :
for chicken marination :
2 chicken breast ( diced )
1 tsp salt
ground pepper
1 tbsp. ginger ,garlic& chili paste
1 tbsp. plain flour
1 tbsp. corn flour
1 egg
for chili sauce :
1 tbsp. siracha sauce
1 tbsp. sweet chili sauce
1 tsp Maggie liquid seasoning
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp tomato ketchup
1/2 lemon juice
for vegetables :
1 red bell pepper
1 yellow bell pepper
2 red onion
3 green chili
1 bunch spring onion
oil for frying and cooking :
direction :
1 . Add chicken & all the ingredients for marination together in the bowl .mix well & let it marinate for minimum 2 hours.
2. Cut all vegetables same size as chicken .
3. Heat oil . Shallow fry or deep fry the chicken pieces until golden & crispy . Drain off on kitchen tissue.
4.Prepare the chili sauce by combining all the ingredients together .
5 . Heat 1 tbsp. oil in wok on high heat. Add ginger , garlic & chili paste , fry for a minute. Add onions, green chili ,bell peppers, spring onions .Fry until they turn slightly tender . They must still keep the crunch .
6. Add the chili sauce & allow to bubble .
7 . Add the chicken & toss. Fry on high heat for 1 min till it looks dry .
8. garnish with spring onion and coriander and serve hot.
