
I was trying to see if my habaneros would be good to eat while they’re green and I came across this [tidbit](https://smallaxepeppers.com/2020/06/05/how-hot-is-habanero-pepper/) saying that in 1999, habanero peppers were the hottest peppers in the world. It’s only been 21 years and we’ve created peppers 10 times hotter. With how much I put habanero on everything I’m shocked it was considered the hottest at some point
