Ingredients for a Best beef chili recipe
1 Kg extra lean ground beef
Assorted mini peppers
796 mL of crushed tomatoes
1/2 Tbsp tomato paste
540 mL canned chickpeas
796 mL kidney beans
1 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp salt
1 1/2 Tbsp cayenne pepper
1 Tbsp garlic
1/2 Tbsp smoked paprika
2 jalapeno peppers
1 medium-sized onion
1 cup beef broth
Cooking instruction for a best beef chili recipe
Total cooking time is about 1 1/2 hours.
Start by chopping the peppers and onion. Add some oil into a deep pot and saute the onions until they are soft in texture. Now add the extra lean ground beef and cook until it is no longer pink in color and it is not chunky. Add salt and garlic into the mix and keep on cooking. It’s time to add the jalapeno and mini peppers, add the tomato paste next and mix. Now you can add the chickpeas along with its liquid content as it adds more flavors and helps the sauce thicken; do the same with kidney beans. Do not wash the beans and add all the liquid which came with the bean in the same can. This will help the sauce to thicken and gain a nice texture. Add the crushed tomatoes now along with sugar to help balance all the flavors together. It is nice to grind some fresh peppers for more exquisite taste. You should cook on medium-high heat for 15 minutes first and then cook on low heat for 1 hour to get the best result. After above mentioned time passed, your sauce should be reduced to 75% and 25% should be evaporated. Make sure that you are stirring every few minutes so you don’t end up burring the bottom of the pot as this will cause a bitter taste.
