LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A beloved piece of local history now has a permanent spot to glow once again.
The Neon Museum has officially acquired the original neon sign from Pride of Philly Steaks, the popular cheesesteak restaurant along Decatur Boulevard, also known to locals as “P.O.P.S.”
First installed above the restaurant’s building when it opened in 2002, the vibrant sign served as a familiar beacon for more than two decades before it was taken down for remodeling.
Following the property remodel and mobile expansion, the family-owned eatery partnered with the museum to preserve the vintage piece.
“My dad opened Pride of Philly Steaks in 2002 and created the logo that became such a recognizable part of our identity,” said Christina Walton, owner of Pride of Philly Steaks.
“As the second generation owner, I’m honored to carry on his legacy and proud that this piece of our family’s history will continue to live on at The Neon Museum. We’re incredibly grateful to be part of Las Vegas’ history and to the local community that has supported us for more than 24 years.”

The milestone was recently celebrated with an intimate gathering of staff, family, museum supporters, and of course, cheesesteaks.
The Neon Museum is located at 770 Las Vegas Blvd N, near Bonanza Road.
