✅ Ingredients
Paneer – 250 gm
Peppers/Capsicum – 1 (can use different colours)
Red onion – 1 medium
Ginger – 3 cm
Garlic – 3 cloves
Spring onion
Green chillies – 3 or to taste
Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
Cooking oil – 3 tbsp
Salt – 1.5 tsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Soy sauce – 2 tbsp
Ketchup – 2 tbsp
Chilli sauce – 2 tbsp
Corn flour – 2 tbsp for coating paneer and 1 tbsp for gravy
Water – 1/8th cup for coating paneer – 2 tbsp for gravy
➡️ Cooking instructions
Prepare corn starch batter by adding salt and red chilli powder in the corn starch powder. Mix well, then add water to make slightly thick but not too thin consistency. Add paneer cubes in the batter and coat well.
Add oil in a pan in low flame. Shallow fry the paneer until it is golden brown on all sides. Remove and put aside.
In the same pan and oil in medium flame, add ginger, garlic and green chillies. Saute for 30 seconds. Add onion and capsicum. Cook for 1 minute in high flame. Add salt and red chilli powder. Mix well and cook for 30 seconds. Add soy sauce, ketchup and chilli sauce. Cook in high heat.
Then make a small portion of batter by mixing 1 tbsp of corn flour with 2 tbsp of water. Add the batter in the pan for slight graviness in the dish. Mix well.
Add fried paneer and give a good toss. Finish off by adding spring onion and lemon juice.
Garnish with toasted sesame seed (optional).
*Corn starch flour helps to avoid breaking of the paneer while cooking. It also gives shine to the whole dish.
