Chilli Idly Recipe:

Idly – 4 nos
Oil – For Deep Frying
Oil – 2 tbsp
Ginger (finely chopped) – 1 tbsp
Garlic (finely chopped) – 1 tbsp
Green chilli (slit) – 2 nos
Spring Onion (finely chopped) – 3 tbsp
Spring Onion Greens (finely chopped) – 3 tbsp
Onion (diced) – 1 no
Capsicum (diced) – ½ no
Soya Sauce – 1 tbsp
Red Chilli Sauce – ½ tbsp
Tomato Ketchup – 2 tbsp
Salt – ¼ tsp
Black Pepper Powder – A Pinch
Water – ¼ Cup
Cornstarch – 1 tbsp
Spring Onion (batons) – For Garnish

Cooking Instructions:

1. Cut each idly into 4 pieces.

2. Fry the idly pieces in hot oil until golden brown in colour and set them aside.

3. Heat oil in a wok and add chopped ginger, garlic and spring onions, saute them for 2 minutes.

4. Add the green chillies, onion and capsicum dices. Saute for 2 mins.

5. Add the sauces, salt and pepper powder. Mix well.

6. Mix together the water and cornstarch and add into the wok to make a thick sauce.

7. Add the fried idly’s and chopped spring onion greens. Mix well and serve hot.

8. Garnish with more fresh spring onion greens.
