Ingredients:
Chicken – 500g
Onion – 1
Green chili – 3
Green chili paste – 3 chilies ground to paste
Red chili powder – 3/4 tsp
Kashmiri Red Chili powder – 1.5 tbsp
Lemon juice – 3 tsp
Salt – To taste
Oil – 5 tbsp
Instructions:
1. In a pan, add oil. When it is hot, add in chopped green chilies, followed by onions. Saute until the onions are cooked.
2. Add green chili paste, red chili powder, Kashmiri chili powder, and salt. Give a quick mix and add little water to cook the masala.
3. After the oil separates, add the cleaned chicken pieces to the pan and mix well.
4. Roast the chicken in high flame for 5 to 7 mins, on all the sides. Finally, close cook the chicken in low flame for 20 to 25 mins.
5. Flip the chicken in between for even cooking.
6. Add 3 tsp lemon juice and combine well.
7. Garnish with coriander leaves. The quick and utterly delicious Andhra Chilli Chicken is ready.
Tips:
1. This is a very spicy chicken recipe. So adjust the spice level accordingly.
2. Kashmiri red chili powder adds a wonderful bright red color to the dish, so try not to skip it.
3. Always roast the chicken, before cooking them. This allows the chicken to absorb the flavors well.
4. Adding lemon juice to the recipe, elevates the flavors of the Andhra Chilli chicken.
