Soft Shell Crab Recipe – Salt and Chilli – Delicious!
Soft Shell Crab is a wonderful shellfish ingredient, especially if you love seafood. All of the flavour of shellfish without the fuss of removing the shells. You can eat everything!!! Best of all soft shell crab is so tasty!
But many people are a bit worried about them as they’re not used to eating whole crabs. Nothing to worry about here though – they’re really easy to cook and even easier to eat!
This recipe is for salt and chilli soft shell crab. The perfect complement in flavour without masking the wonderful crab taste.

For this recipe you will need:
Some soft shell crab (usually sold by the kilo) this is enough for 5-6 people.
50g of plain flour, 50g cornflour/cornstarch
1 scotch bonnet chilli pepper
1 good chunk of ginger
10 cloves of garlic
Salt and pepper to taste
Approx 500 ml of cooking oil for deep frying
2 scallions for garnish
Soy Dip:
3 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp dark soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp runny honey
1 tsp of the chopped ginger
1 tsp of the chopped chilli
1 tsp of the chopped garlic
