Ingredients for Lentil Paste:
Soaked Split chickpeas lentil (chana dal) 1 cup
Soaked Red lentil (Moong Dal) 1/2 cup
Soaked Black lentil skinless (Mash dal) 1/2 cup
Salt 1 tsp
Coriander powder 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
Fennel seeds 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder 1 tsp

Ingredients for Daal Kofta Curry:
Oil 1/2 cup
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Star anise 1
Bay leaf 1
Onion paste 1 cup
Tomato puree 1/2 cup
Red chili powder 1 ½ tsp
Lentil paste
Water 1 cup
Salt 1 tsp / to taste
Garam masala 1/2 tsp
Green chilies 3-4
K&N’s Kofta 850 g (10-15)
Cream as required
Green coriander as required

Directions for Lentil Paste Preparation:
1. In a pot heat water and bring it to boil. Add red lentil, split chickpeas lentil, skinless black lentil and boil over medium low flame until fully done.
2. Let the lentils cool down, transfer the mixture into blender and add salt, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, coriander powder blend into smooth paste. Set aside.
Directions for Daal Kofta Curry Preparation:
3. Heat oil in a pot and add cumin seeds, bay leaf, star anise and cook for a minute.
4. Add onion paste and cook for 4-5 minutes.
5. Now add tomato puree, red chili powder and cook until oil separates.
6. Add prepared lentil paste, water, salt, green chilies and cook until desired consistency has reached.
7. Prepare K&N’s Kofta as per instructions on the pack. Add in the daal gravy.
8. Add garam masala and cook for another 2 minutes.
9. Your daal kofta curry is ready.
10. Drizzle some cream, garnish with green coriander and serve with rice or roti.
