Award winning chili recipe
Stage 1
3lbs 80/20 ground beef
1lb bulk pork sausage (you can use any flavor you want)
1/2 Very large sweet onion
2 T Vegetable Oil
1 T All Purpose Flour
1 T Granulated Garlic
2 T Chili Powder
1/2T Black Pepper
1 T Cumin
1 Cup Beef Stock
2 Cub Chicken Stock
12 oz tomato sauce
4 oz Green Chilies
1 Jalapeno Pepper
Stage 2
1 T Granulated Garlic
1 1/2 T Brown Sugar
2 T Chili Powder
2 T Chipotle Chili Powder
1 T Cumin
3 oz Tomato Sauce
12 oz Crushed Tomatoes
1 lg Can Dark Red Kidney Beans
Salt to taste
In large pot, heat oil, brown beef and sausage, drain, add onions and cook 10 minutes, add rest of stage 1 ingredients and cook for 1 hour 30 minutes stirring occasionally. (Cook Covered)
Stage 2
Taste to make sure chili is going for the flavor you like. Adjust spices as needed. Add remaining ingredients and cook 45 minutes uncovered. Stirring occasionally.
Taste and salt as needed.
