Using items from the Home Canned Pantry Recipe!

Susan’s Deer Chili

2 quarts pinto beans or 4 cups cooked pinto beans (Drained)
1 pint ground deer (1 lb) or cooked ground beef
1 quart crushed tomatoes (with juice)
1 can Rotel
1 can tomato paste
1/2 cup chopped onions or 2 T dry onion flakes
1/2 cup chopped or sliced bell peppers

Use ONLY one of these: 1 T. Tony Chachere’s Original Creole Seasoning, or 1 T Chili powder, or 2 heaping T. Cowboy Candy (minced)

Do not add any salt before tasting. You can add black pepper if needed.

Put ingredients into medium stock pot, and heat on medium low heat until the onions and bell peppers are tender and the chili is heated through.

Serve with cornbread, bread or crackers. Top with shredded cheese.
