Chili Smith began as we started making the chili that was so popular in Mother and Dadās restaurants several years ago. That lead to discovering heirloom beans and working with the grower to market and distribute them around the country and internationally.
We now have several local family owned and operated farms that grow the beans, rice, and other products we feature in our store and online.
Chili Smith has built a reputation for teaching and offered cooking classes and tasting parties on a regular basis pre-pandemic. We also are featured at many events like the National Heirloom Exposition, the Farm to Fork Celebration, Mountain Mandarin Festival, and several VegFest Events, where we teach cooking Deliciously Healthy Foods. We teach cooking and the history of foods and include many cultures, taste preferences and traditions.
As the restrictions on in-person events increased, we now offer Plant-Based cooking ā and other things of interest ā on our YouTube Channel and Zoom Classes.
Our approach is to provide high quality foods and meet cooks where they are in skill level, convenience desire and taste preference. Therefore, we now offer completely prepared and frozen foods, over 20 individual rare beans, seasonings, sauces, rubs, lentils, and more for cooks, plus and entire line of iPot Ready! products that are fully contained mixes requiring only water and designed for modern pressure cooking or traditional per-soaking and water bath style preparation. All selected and designed to be delicious and bring friends and family back to share meals, life stories and laughter together!
