Simple, Healthy Chili Recipe With a TWIST

This time I recorded my favourite simple, healthy chili recipe for you. I make it at least once a month, my hubby absolutely loves it. I used ground turkey but chicken or lean beef would work as well. I had 2 long sweet peppers at home this time but you can use bell peppers or an color shape or form sweet peppers. You can also add some celery, mushrooms, zucchini, etc. And the best part? It’s ready in 40 minutes! You can freeze it also in a container but please do so only, if your meat wasn’t frozen before.

Ingredients:

-1 tbsp oil (I used avocado oil)
-3 garlic cloves, crushed

1st bowl:
-1 onion, diced
-1 carrot, diced
– 1 stalk celery (optional)

2nd bowl:
-2 bell peppers, diced

-1 pound ground meat (turkey, chicken, beef)
-4.5 tbsp chili powder
-2.5 tsp ground cumin
-1 tsp oregano
-1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
-1/2 tsp salt
-1 can (28 oz/ 796ml) diced tomatoes
-1 1/3 cup broth (chicken or vegetable)
– 2 cans of beans (2 red kidney beans or 1 red kidney and 1 mixed beans)
-1 cup corn (frozen)
-1/3 tsp secret spice.. you will find it towards the end of the video…:)

Method

Sautee the garlic, onion, carrot (and celery) on oil for a couple minutes. Add your ground meat, spices, tomato can, peppers, beans, corn, broth, secret spice and cook uncovered for 30-35 mins on medium low. Enjoy it on its own or with sour cream, shredded cheese, avocado cubes or tortilla chips. Please let me know on the comment how did you like my healthy turkey chili recipe.
