You will need:
Chopped Palak / Spinach: 1 cup
Tur Dal: ½ cup
Heeng: 1/8 tsp or a pinch
Chopped green chilies: 2
Haldi / turmeric powder: ¼ tsp
Red chili powder: ½ tsp
Curry leaves: 5 to 6
Chopped coriander leaves: 1 tbsp
Tadka ingredients:
Urad dal: 1 tsp
Mustard seeds: ½ tsp
Whole red chilies: 2
Jeera / cumin seeds: ½ tsp
Salt (as required)

Preparation:
Rinse tur dal (1/2 cup) properly with water twice
Add rinsed tur dal and water (2 cups) in pressure cooker and cook till 3 whistles
Keep aside the cooked dal

In a pan, add oil (3 tbsp) and let it heat
Add tadka ingredient (urad dal: 1 tsp, mustard seeds: ½ tsp, jeera / cumin seeds: ½ tsp) and saute till urad dal turn light golden
Add whole red chilies (2), chopped green chilies (2) and saute
Add a pinch of heeng and saute
Add chopped spinach (1 cup) and saute
Add haldi / turmeric powder (1/4 tsp), curry leaves (5 to 6) and saute till spinach is cooked
Add salt (as required) and mix well
Cover and cook for 3 to 5 minutes till spinach is well cooked
Add cooked dal, red chili powder (1/2 tsp) and mix well
[Add water if required]
Cover and cook for 2 minutes till dal comes to consistent thickness and combines well
Mix well
Cook for 2 minutes
Remove from flame
Transfer to a serving bowl
Palakura Pappu is reaady
