Good day! This thin and clear soup is one of the most popular soup here in the Philippines. Commonly being served when mussels are abundant due to ginger and chili leaveās curative properties especially during flu season.
Hereās my version of Tinolang Tahong. Enjoy!
Yield: 6-8 servings
Ingredients:
4-5 cloves of garlic (crushed)
1 medium white onion (sliced)
1 thumb size of ginger (cut into strips)
2 medium size sayote (chayote) – sliced diagonally
1 cup chili leaves
1 kilo – 1.5 kilos of large mussels (cleaned)
8 Tbsp. Fish sauce and pepper to taste (adjust according to taste)
2 liters of water
