AYAM GORENG CILI BEREMPAH / Spicy Chili Fried Chicken

Malay Food Recipes – Ayam goreng cili berempah (Spicy fried chicken) marries the three main cultures of Malaysia – The Malay, Indian and Chinese. It is the ultimate Malaysian cuisine oozing with exotic taste and fragrances of the spices and the curry leaves.
FYI, I posted an earlier version titled “Ayam bersalut Maggi” but decided to rename it with the above title.
For the recipes:
AYAM GORENG CILI BEREMPAH (SPICY FRIED CHICKEN)
INGREDIENTS:
1. ½ chicken – cut up in pieces and marinate with seasoning mix
2. Chilies, Shallots, garlic and ginger – blend in a food processor
3. Cinnamons, cloves, star anise and curry leaves
4. Oil for frying the chicken
DIRECTIONS
Heat the oil in a wok and fry the chicken pieces until brown. Remove and put aside
Use about 4 tbsp of the frying oil. Sauté the blended ingredients
Add in the spices – cinnamons, cloves, star anise and curry leaves.
Fry all the ingredients until fragrant
Add in the fried chicken
Mix well until all the chicken pieces are evenly coated
