Chili Recipe with Ground Turkey & Beans Healthy Version
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground turkey or chicken
1 small onion or half of a medium onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
½ cup bell pepper (green or red), diced
2 cans 15 oz. beans
1 can 14.5 oz. corn (drained)
1 can 7 ¾ oz. jalapeno sauce
1 can 14.5 oz. diced tomatoes
1 can 4 oz roasted chili peppers
1 tablespoon dried oregano
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 teaspoons cumin powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon oyster sauce
½ teaspoon salt or to taste
1 teaspoon chicken base
2 tablespoons olive oil

For garnish:
Any cheese of your choice
Green onions, sliced
Cilantro leaves
Parsley, chopped (optional)
Tortilla chips (optional)
Cornbread (optional)

Directions:
Heat a pot on medium heat, then add olive oil. Sauté the onion for about 2 minutes until translucent. Add garlic and bell pepper and sauté for about 1 minute. Add the ground turkey. Break the ground turkey in smaller pieces and mix well. Put the lid on and let it simmer for about 3-5 minutes. Add the roasted chili peppers, jalapeno sauce and diced tomatoes. Mix well. Add the beans. Add the corn. Mix well to combine. Add the aromatics: chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, and dried oregano. Mix well to combine once again. Add the oyster sauce, honey, salt, and chicken base. Bring it to a boil, cover, and then simmer for about 30 – 40 minutes. Serve warm with grated cheese, green onions, cilantro and parsley (optional), or even slices of avocado.
