My parents are from Michoacan and my dad likes menudo with beef heart in it, he’s been making my mom put it in there for years even though he’s the only one that really likes that meat. Recently my mom finally started saying no because it changes the flavor of the broth. I don’t think we’ve ever put Avocado in it though.

No, I add Avocados to pozole, along with coleslaw, origano, lime and raw onions. Menudo is origano, onions and lime juice only, at least that’s how I grew up eating it.
