Ep 39: Charred Broccolini with Roasted Chili Sauce from the Wood Fired Oven



This is my recipe for charred broccolini, served it with some of my roasted chili sauce. It is incredibly simple and quick to make, and is a flavourful and vibrant dish.

The wine is a 2020 Presqu’ile Chardonnay from Santa Barbara County

    We've been trying to improve our pizza making and we are getting there! Can't wait to try all your latest dishes. So nice to see you back producing terrific videos and the best part is we have never tried any of the recipes.
    Well impressed and now I have a lot to catch up with! Keep them coming Summer is close and we've had pretty good weather recently so the oven has been on as often as possible. More to do though after your recent videos!
    Also I have been trying to finish how I want the oven to look as I have never finished it to my satisfaction. When I say that I am trying to decide to add extra insulation for retained heat cooking or not. Our little Portuguese oven is the most basic but still gives us great pleasure throughout the year, and great food, even in Scotland!

    Carol and I made the Broccolini with the roasted chili sauce yesterday. Done on the spur of the moment so took a little while to prepare. We had the broccolini with roasted chili sauce along with a thick cut sirloin steak and it was a great combination, a real winner! Thanks again for another great recipe!

  6. You are a magician with food and the wood fired oven! I need to make a list of all your various foods you have demonstrated in the wood fired oven, and start working on checking them off during the summer. Out of curiosity, do you use your same 8" peel for pizza as well as for moving coals around like that? I own just one and kind of protect it for pizza use.

This is probably my favorite channel on youtube, so calming. I have a small wood oven I bought for pizzas but soon I will be trying out more than just that. Thank you so much for being here!
