Mexican Food

My coworker made this and told me it’s called “American pie”. It’s a sweet dense bread, I think she said it was made with cornmeal. Any ideas?

I can’t tell but it looks like a sweet version of a gordita.

An American pie has to be an apple pie with perks.

Reminds me of the sweet bread shaped like a pig.

It looks like a “Gordita de trigo”, my family is from Zacatecas and they are popular there.

It looks like something I’ve seen before called a Shawnee cake or Johnny cake, it’s like a corn pancake.

It’s lembas bread or “journey bread”. Google it. The settlers & cowboys used it to survive.

It’s a “gordita de horno”. These are popular in Zacatecas/Durango pueblos (small villages and ranches) and are made with corn flour, milk, brown sugar, cinnamon cooked in stone and clay oven.
