Tostadas are completely unknown in Canada. I can think of maybe one Mexican restaurant in Canada that I’ve been to that even offers them.

Most common? Refired beans, shredded panela cheese, lettuce, crema and salsa
Some only eat them with salsa and lime
Some like it with picadillo
I love me some tuna tostada’s
Hell, I even put hummus and cucumber in a tostada
Tostada with shredded chicken and salsa? Fuck yeah
Most of the Mexican daily taco intake is just whatever you are eating you heat up some tortillas and make some tacos out of it.
So don’t care about the pedantic “tacos must be like this”. As a wise man once said “everything that steps on a tortilla becomes a taco”.

I haven’t had many tostada’s, but when I have, they have been kinda difficult to eat and messy. Looks like that would be the case here too. Someone tell me the appeal because I’m sure I’m just missing something.
