It’s not a scam if people pay it. They are free to make their own choices.
Maybe they do it so they have to makes less of them thinking the price will discourage people from getting it. Normally if someone wants people to get less of something anywhere they raise the price. Like how Mc Donalds tells you their ice cream machine is broken when they don’t wanna clean it.

I just bought that. Got a chicken chalupa, shredded beef taco and a 5 layer with a Mt Dew. Not a terrible price given the beefy is $4.

Could be worse, could be like the taco bell near me that was scamming people with the volcano taco by claiming that the volcano taco doesn’t come with the lava sauce, while charging $3 for it still.
