Oh Say Cayenne You See

3 pounds from one plant. Gotta love pepper season. Alexandria Virginia. Planted in a whisky barrel.

Holy crap one plant. Never had a single one yield more than half a pound. In Alabama for reference.

how long did it take from the first one to ripen to the last one to ripen?

That’s a good harvest. I have a cayenne pepper plant but aphids ate on them so I’m not getting any peppers

  4. Whatcha gonna do with with all them peppers?
Just read further, hot sauce… that’s awesome. I have some thai hot peppers I am going to harvest soon, also tobasco peppers. Can’t wait to make sauce!

I grew these last year, they were phenomenal fresh, cut into rings and put on a slice of cheddar atop a little pretzel. Couldn’t quit eating them. I dried a similar size harvest and made crushed red pepper enough to last for like three years (mixed all my hot peppers at the end of the year this way).
